 In this unit we will begin our study of the Civil Law, in particular Contract and Consumer Law. 

Although for some, not as appealing as Criminal Law, the law of contract is a very interesting study with cases that span many centuries. 

Much of contract law is common law, although parliaments have been inclined in recent times to codify or over-rule common law, as well as passing a large body of consumer protection legislation.
